Scheduled
During the times listed in this notice, engineers will be performing OS software upgrades, bird routing daemon software upgrades, and large configuration upgrades to the second route server (RS2) in both AKL and CHC. For a period of up-to 60 minutes per route server during this window BGP will be disabled in order to reboot and upgrade the services.

This notice affects the following Route Servers:
- rs2.akl.ix.nz - 43.243.21.254 | 2001:7fa:11:6:0:1db6:0:2
- rs2.chc.ix.nz - 103.94.93.254 | 2001:dee:8000:2:0:1db6:0:2

These upgrades will move us to a completely automated route server configuration system, including automated daily as-set updates.

Redundant Route Server Peering
=========================
You can avoid an outage on your services during these times by ensuring you are peering with both route servers. If you are not peering with both route servers, please see below for IP addresses of the redundant route server in each IX.

- rs1.akl.ix.nz - 43.243.21.1 | 2001:7fa:11:6:0:1db6:0:1
- rs1.chc.ix.nz - 103.94.93.1 | 2001:dee:8000:2:0:1db6:0:1

This work supplements the RS1 work to take place on 10 December 2020 between 1am -3am NZDT.
